Walk for ALS Ethical Fundraising

Do you have a piece of artwork, merchandise or equipment that you would like to donate?

Donation of Artwork or Merchandise

Throughout the year the ALS Society organizes a variety of events for which we are always searching for artwork or merchandise. These events include silent and live auctions, raffles and prize draws. If you have artwork or merchandise that you would like to donate to be used in one of these events, please contact your local ALS regional manager or the Business Development Manager at 905-248-2101 or 1-866-611-8545 x 220 or

A tax receipt will be issued for the fair market value of your item.

Donation of Equipment

The ALS Society of Ontario will not purchase used equipment from donors. Donors can only be provided a tax receipt for the appraised value of the equipment based on the condition of the equipment and depreciation value. An equipment appraisal form completed by an authorized vendor should be submitted to the provincial office against which a tax receipt will be issued.

In general, donation of equipment will not be accepted when:

  • The cost to purchase this equipment brand new is below $250.
  • Hygienic condition of the equipment (especially bathroom equipment) is poor.
  • There is a substantial cost involved in removing the equipment from the donor’s premises and/or risk of damage to their property.
  • It is more than five years old.

Please contact one of the Client Services Co-ordinators (central Ontario above Newmarket, northern Ontario, eastern Ontario and western Ontario regions 1-866-611-8545 x 211; GTA, Hamilton and Niagara regions 1-866-611-8545 x 222) to arrange the equipment donation and provide the following information: make, model, year and condition of the equipment, whether you will drop off the equipment or require it to be picked up, and donor information for a tax receipt.
