Title: Walk for ALS: Volunteer

Looking for a great volunteer opportunity?

The WALK for ALS is organized by a group of dedicated volunteers in various communities across Ontario. To sustain the success of the WALK, we are always recruiting new volunteers to assist us and to generate new energy and ideas. Here are some positions we try to fill for each walk location:

  • Walk Co-ordinator: primary organizer of the walk responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteer Walk Committee
  • Team Chair: recruits, trains and leads team captains
  • Media Relations Co-ordinator: contacts local media such as newspapers, TV and radio stations to secure promotions for the walk
  • Site Co-ordinator: responsible for the walk site and day of site planning and set-up
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator: recruits volunteers for day of assistance
  • Food Co-ordinator: secures donations of food beverages for walkers
  • Entertainment Co-ordinator: books entertainment such as musicians, clowns, face painters, etc.
  • Registration Co-ordinator: responsible for all aspects of registration including proper collection of funds and banking
