The WALK for ALS is the signature event of ALS Society of Ontario. This event helps to increase awareness of ALS and raise money for equipment and support services for people living with ALS, as well as research to find a cure.
It's the time of year where supporters are lacing up their walking shoes and taking to the street or trails in 30 communities around Ontario to walk for those who can't.
The annual WALK for ALS is now underway, with Toronto, Alliston, Brampton, Georgetown, Hamilton, Wellington North (Mount Forest) and Orangeville Walks for ALS all having successful walks on June 5th! And Almonte, Barrie, Cornwall, Durham, Kitchener-Waterloo, Mississauga and Timmins Walks made great strides on June 12th! Congratulations all! Ottawa and Sudbury Walks are on June 19th. Kingston, Niagara Falls and Wingham Walks are on June 26th.
Walk for ALS helps to increase awareness of the disease, raise money for equipment and support services for those living with ALS, and garner funds towards research to find a cure.
