Walk for ALS Ethical Fundraising

The 2nd Annual Hike 4 ALS was a great success!

Held at the Kortright Centre in Vaughan, the Hike 4 ALS brought together 100 participants who raised just shy of $36,000! Though clouds were looming overhead, participants braved the chance of rain and hiked 10kms of trail. After their hike, participants enjoyed a great lunch that included a fabulous cake and delicious cookies donated by St. Phillip's Bakery.

In addition to raising funds and awareness for ALS, many participants attended this event to honour and remember Lesley Price, a former Kortright Centre employee who succumbed to ALS only two days before. Though Lesley’s passing was still a fresh wound in the hearts of those who knew her, friends and family felt even more compelled to participate in the hike. “It is what she would have wanted us to do,” says Mike Price, Lesley’s widower.
